GYC is a youth-driven initiative that promotes urban sustainability by enabling students to build their own gardens, in school or out. We provide a garden mentorship program that connects students with experienced gardeners, and a community seed bank where seeds can be exchanged or "loaned" out. In addition to useful links and resources, free garden workshops are also available throughout the year upon request.

About
GYC
Do you want to build a school
garden, but lack the money or
experience to do so?

Want an experienced gardener as your mentor? Or simply needing tips and advice?

Take a look at our list of available mentors across B.C! If you do not find anyone that fits your situation, please contact us and we will post your request. Note that the list is continuously growing, so check back from time to time.

The generosity of our sponsors has led to GYC's very own community seed bank. If you are hoping to borrow some seeds for your garden, take a look at the tab above!

Want to learn more about gardening--how to prepare your soil, sow seeds, prevent infestations, or harvest crops?

Send us an email with topics you want to learn about, and with enough student interest, we can set up regular workshops led by Garden Works' expert gardeners.

Learn more about gardening through these helpful links to blogs or videos!
